My 2021 Bucket List

By Victor Cesar Jr., MD

In early 2020, (precisely in March) I was very excited about the future and, as you know, we were suddenly caught by the surprises that this year has brought us. Initially, the fears and doubts of a pandemic changed routines in our daily lives and at work.

I have always tried to mix work and pleasure on my trips. When I realized that I would be unable to enjoy traveling for work and fun, it hit me like a cold shower.

As a wine lover, Napa Valley is constantly on my radar so you can imagine how much I was looking forward to being there in 2021. Surrounded by friends in Napa, I could taste the great wines with great food and enjoy  beautiful scenery everywhere I look. I miss my Napa experiences so much.

This situation we are currently navigating makes me realize the importance of family, friends, and charity. There are things that we often forget, which are the real miracles of life. The simple things in life that we “look at,” but many times we don’t “see”…like the sunshine, a turtle swimming in the sea, a dad or mom hugging  his or her son or daughter.

So, I wish you all a bright and shiny 2021, “outside” and “inside.” It means that we need to live our lives for our families, friends, acquaintances, and even people we don’t know in a warm and friendly environment. We have to look inside ourselves to find the best we have in us.

I take this opportunity to suggest a visit to Bordeaux, France and for a river trip along the Garonne river, exploring the right or left bank and tasting incredible wines, visiting beautiful châteaux, and doing nothing less than living a good life and spending time in meaningful ways.

For all wine lovers, beer lovers, water lovers, anything lovers: a Merry Merry Christmas and a blessed 2021.
